A Systematic Study on Techno-Economic Evaluation of Hydrogen Production

This paper aims to perform a systematic review, with bibliometric approach, of the techno-economic evaluation studies hydrogen production. To achieve this objective, comprehensive outline production processes from fossil and renewable sources is presented. The results reveal that electrolysis, classified as water splitting, most investigated process in literature since it contributes reduction greenhouse gas emissions presents other advantages, such maturity applicability, energy efficiency, flexibility, storage potential. In addition, gasification, thermochemical, steam reforming, catalytic are worth mentioning. Regarding biological category, there balance between research on photo fermentation dark fermentation. highlights significant gaps, including scarcity studies, lack emphasis commercial viability, an absence sensitivity analysis, need for comparative analyses technologies.
